The Stó:lō Research and Resource Management Centre includes a well equipped Geographic Information Systems Department that uses ArcGIS 9.x, Surfer 8.0, Oracle and Spatial Analyst software. Our GIS program has linked scientific and community based knowledge in projects including traditional use studies, predictive modeling of potential archaeological sites as well as documented archaeological sites, place names, cultural inventories and heritage management planning.
Services provided by the GIS technicians include:
  • Physical development and land use plans
  • Spatial analysis
  • 3-D landscape modeling
  • Digitization/data capture
  • Graphics
